320N

The 320N Fathometer has been designed as a plug-in replacement for the aging U.S. Navy AN/UQN-4 with appropriate connections. The 320N Fathometer is a state-of-the-art system with a user friendly touchscreen interface. Its low maintenance modular construction, simple installation and hands free operation make it the most flexible fleet echosounder available. It is currently installed on several U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and Royal Australian Navy vessels. The dry end electronics is intended for easy interface both current ship installed 12 kHz. UQN-4 transducers (no dry dock required), but it can also be readily configured to other new, as well as different frequency transducers. An internal logging of the Echogram Record is provided. The addition of a Remote Display and sonar signal simulator (EchoSim) rounds out your fleet navigation package.

EchoSim

The EchoSim is often purchased alongside the 320N. EchoSim can assist with Installation and Checkout (INCO), Sea Acceptance Testing (SAT), Harbor Acceptance Testing (HAT), Fault Isolation, and System Verification. It is controlled through a Windows Graphical User Interface (GUI). The EchoSim is a USB device, allowing any computer with host USB port capabilities to serve as a user interface.

Sub Bottom Profiling

Pinger

Pinger, an innovative product offering, is designed specifically for shallow water sub-bottom sediment profiling (as shallow as 4m and up to 300m in ideal conditions). The Pinger Sub Bottom Profiler is also capable of operating in Bathy mode. The Dry End system is equipped with a toggle switch, allowing operators to select between receiving on the large aperture array or receiving with the projecting transducer (additional transducers sold separately). If you have a requirement for a shallow water sub-bottom profiler, and need a standard bathymetric system for the same vessel, the Pinger is a good option to consider for your geophysical exploration.

Pinger Dry End

The Pinger Dry End is a portable, black box system which plugs into the user's laptop computer via a usb cable connection. The system is controlled through Knudsen's SounderSuite Windows application software which is supplied with the unit. The user will be able to view depth records in real time, and record the data onto their computer hard drive for archival and post processing.
